If you haven’t yet watched The Jungle Book you’re doing life wrong – seriously, I held out for a while but you need to get involved.

Someone who didn’t feature, but by the looks of things could have, is this young girl from Sri Lanka.

Her story has been covered far and wide, from the UK’s Daily Mail (HERE) to Australia’s 9News (HERE), but we’ll see what the Telegraph has to say:

Amazing footage has emerged from Sri Lanka appearing to show a little girl stopping a wild elephant in its tracks and forcing it to retreat. The video, filmed earlier this month, shows the girl standing her ground with her arm outstretched as the elephant marches towards her on a road. Astonishingly, despite the elephant’s massive size, it seems intimidated by the confident little girl and, in the end, turns around and runs away into the bushes.

Please don’t go trying this in the Kruger, or anywhere else for that matter, because if you end up trampled no doubt they’ll shoot the poor elephant too.
