Most people with a love for surfing have considered packing in the nine to five and riding waves all day, but not everyone has the courage to make it happen.
Well, if you’re going to make surfing your life there are few better places to call home than Jeffreys Bay, and that’s exactly where Bruce Gold has set up shop for almost 50 years.
Anders Melchior has uploaded a brilliant video to Vimeo detailing the life and times of Bruce, complete with this description:
Bruce Gold is the ultimate surfing hippie. He has sacrificed everything to surf the best waves in the world. He quit his job in his early twenties and moved to Jeffreys Bay. He is now 69 years old and still going strong.
Take eight minutes out of your busy schedule and meet the legend for yourself:
Here’s a man who lives life on his own terms – you just do you Bruce, it seems to have worked a treat thus far.
