Here’s Our International Relations Minister Embarrassing Herself On Al Jazeera [Video]

There's nothing like going on the defensive. and losing your cool during an interview to gain unnecessary recognition.

Oh, golly. Off the bat, Foreign Minister of South Africa, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, was acting a bit weird when speaking to South African-born journalist Jane Dutton.

The interview was for news channel Al Jazeera, about the current state of the nation at the end of May.

To see for yourself, here’s the full interview:

After Nkoana-Mashabane came under fire on social media for her lack of adequate engagement, she fought back via an interview with The Sunday Times:

It really had absolutely nothing to do [with] my fatigue. Well, I never rest, but rest was not a problem. The questions were about the speculations at home; she (Dutton) really became a South African in opposition. And I had all the reasons to defend my country. By the way, diplomacy is not about being sheepish; it’s about defending your country and what you believe.

Ummm, what kind of news agency does Nkoana-Mashabane think Al Jazeera is? Surely not a state-backed SABC or ANN7?

Here’s Nkoana-Mashabane response to Dutton’s questions, via Sunday Times:
