I tell you, there’s a lot to be said about having a slave for the day. I was around during apartheid and, although shocking and clearly an abuse of human rights, there certainly were some perks – you shouldn’t knock it ’til you try it. Especially when we’re dealing with some of the spunkiest slaves I’ve ever come across, and I’ve had MANY. Notwithstanding the pre-teen Cambodian children I have under my floorboard as I write this. But they perform one task, and aren’t actual slaves. Churning out 25 pairs of slip-slops an hour is called “manufacturing,” not “slavery.”
