Since their decision to control the way the British royals look in the media, Kensington Palace’s Twitter is the account to follow for all breaking news concerning the family.
Also, British tabloids are pissed.
So when the royals’ social media account manager tweeted a single photograph of Kate Middleton on the cover of British Vogue for their 100th anniversary issue on Saturday, the world was in awe.
It is, after all, Kate’s first magazine fashion shoot.
Here’s how Vogue likes to describe her look:
The country-chic photographs, with shades of Out of Africa and Lady Mary on a hunt, are blindingly beautiful: Beholding her strong brow, glorious feathered mane, and sparkling smile is a bit like staring directly into the sun. To say the portraits by British photographer Josh Olins are a work of art isn’t hyperbole: Over the weekend, two portraits were hung in the National Portrait Gallery in London, which collaborated on the shoot and counts the Duchess as a patron.
Of course, royal fans are celebrating the moment as the last first lady to fully embrace her role was Princess Diana – and how we all miss her.
