Several times a week, two Gupta-owned vehicles would make a trip to Jacob Zuma with bags “bulging” with cash. This is according to a former Gupta Bodyguard. The trips, taken by Ajay Gupta, would sometimes be made to the presidential guesthouse in Pretoria and last between 30 – 60 minutes.
Although Ajay was an “always kind” employer, another said that people could be fired on the spot if any member of the family got mad. The hours were unbearable.
But it’s not only JZ with whom the Guptas have had meetings or social visits. IFP leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi and SABC chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng are said to be visitors. News24 elaborates:
Another strange occurrence the former guards noted was that bags stuffed full of cold hard cash would be transported from one place to another. They claim that one time they picked up two heavy boxes on the highway across from the Guptas’ Sahara company.
One leather satchel of cash was said to have been left in Motsoeneng’s car, a claim he told the M&G was pure nonsense.
