Time for everyone with what was once the latest Apple device to start feeling inadequate – sorry guys, that’s just how they roll.
Yesterday saw Apple Vice President Greg Joswiak deliver the new keynote address in Cupertino, California, with the biggest announcement being a new iPhone.
It’s been dubbed the iPhone SE and this time the emphasis is on less is more. Here’s Huffington Post:
The iPhone SE features a 4-inch screen that’s smaller than most of the newer smartphones, which have trended larger in recent years. For comparison, the iPhone 6 sports a 4.7-inch display, and the iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch screen.
The new phone will have 13 hours of battery life while browsing on Wi-Fi and 14 hours of talk time — a couple of hours better than the iPhone 6 family. Presumably, that smaller screen on the SE helps cut down on power usage.
The iPhone SE has the same 12-megapixel camera as its bigger brother, the 6s. That means customers will be able to view and take “live photos” in addition to 4K video.
On the front side of the phone, users will have a better “selfie” camera: the screen will flash white to illuminate your face as you take a picture.
Whilst the phone will be in U.S. stores from March 31 we’ll have to wait until May to grab them this side of the world. Best you keep an eye out HERE, these guys are always the first on board with the goods.
It wasn’t just the iPhone SE that was announced though, with a smaller iPad Pro also talked up. Below from TIME:
Apple’s tablet elbowed its way into the business market last year with the iPad Pro, a 12.7-inch device that supported the use of a stylus dubbed the Apple Pencil and an official keyboard that allows the device to compete with Microsoft’s Surface. The new iPad takes those same features and shrinks them into a 9.7-inch device, the same size as the company’s flagship iPad Air line.
An improved 12 megapixel camera and a brighter screen that is able to adapt its coloring to match ambient light round out the iPad’s most important new features.
Other announcements included a new iOS, an Apple TV update, an Apple Watch price cut and some new health data apps.
