Despite what Jozi might think, there are plenty of movers and shakers here in the Cape. We’ll be running a new series where we meet some of these cool cats – maybe it’s someone you want to work with or for, or maybe it’s an industry that really interests you.
This week it’s the team at Grand Studios, who we should mention are pretty good neighbours here at Cartel House. Not once have they judged us for using the hoverboard around the office, which we know takes a great deal of self control on their part.
We emailed Brendan a few questions to better understand what they do and here’s what he had to say:
1) Who are you (business)?
A high-end design agency that focuses on luxury brands
2) What do you do/specialise in?
Strategic research collation and development of detailed visual identity toolkits
3) How big is your team?
3 Full time – Creative Strategist, Creative Director and Project Manager
4) List three things you like about working in town?
Constant energy creates a sense of momentum
Access to real time on the ground inspiration and creativity
‘Tourists’ – they remind us to never stop discovering and exploring
5) Is parking really that much of an issue?
Nope – very fortunate to have off street parking
6) If you could choose an ideal client, who would it be?
The Monocle Brand. They have successfully created a magazine brand in a world obsessed by the virtual/digital world.
It’s quite a lekker thing being surrounded by so many creatives doing their thing, the Cartel House layout meaning we’re all able to share a laugh and throw around a few ideas.
