If you’re losing faith in humanity reading all about Donald Trump over in the U.S. then here’s something that you might enjoy, some heroes from South African Whale Disentanglement Network (SAWND) playing out of their boots on Wednesday.
A nine-metre Southern Right Whale that became entangled in fishing rope and buoys required the assistance of the volunteers just off Bantry Bay, with this below from News24:
“The whale, appearing to be healthy and able to move freely, had fishing rope around the front flippers with two small flotation buoys attached,” reads a statement issued by the NSRI’s Craig Lambinon.
The rescuers cut off at least three ropes but visibility hampered their efforts. The team did not manage to cut the fourth rope are optimistic the whale swam off with ease [sic].
Still, I think that qualifies as a happy ending right?
