Prof. Severus Snape is one of J.K. Rowling’s most misunderstood characters and throughout the whole series one never quite knows where he stands, until the end that is. His complex relationship with Harry is central to the series and keeps readers – and viewers – guessing until the final moments.
The potions professor was played by the late Alan Rickman, who passed away yesterday at the age of 69 after a battle with cancer. Although he played the role of the villain in most of his films, Alan was able to capture the hearts of many through his various roles.
Although it has been reported that Alan Rickman took his role as Snape seriously, adopting the professor’s disgruntled demeanour throughout filming, his lighter side was shown when he paired up with Michael Gambon to play a prank on Daniel Radcliffe. Check the clip below:
