Horrible news coming out of the Atlantic Seaboard today as police are now investigating a body that washed up near Clifton beach.
The body, discovered this morning by two locals during their swim, may be that of a boy who disappeared. It is reported that the locals saw the body floating in shallow water at around 7:45 AM. Here’s EWN:
It’s unclear whether the body is that of a 10-year-old boy who is presumed to have drowned in the area…
The police’s Fredrick van Wyk said, “At this stage it cannot be confirmed if this is the same person of the person who went missing from the same beach in December 2015 as a result of decomposing. We will do DNA tests to compare with the relatives of the missing person.”
The 10-year-old who went missing was a child from Gugulethu, swept out to sea on New Year’s Day.
