If you cast your mind back to 2005 you might remember Kevin Pietersen arriving back on our shores and plundering the Proteas bowlers all over the show. He was quick to whip off his helmet and make love to the English badge that adorns it, running his mouth time and time again about how good it feels to play for England.
Fast forward 10 years and he’s burnt just about every bridge he has in England, his burgeoning friendship with Boucher and Kallis and Graeme Smith pointing to his sudden affinity with the land of his birth once more. Interesting timing there KP, although the Dolphins were glad to have you as they made their way to the Ram Slam T20 final.
Anyway back to his latest rant – Pietersen was enjoying being back Down Under for their T20 competition when he was denied entrance to the Qantas airline lounge for wearing flip flops, setting in motion another toy-throwing https://www.eta-i.org/valium.html session. Twitter was obviously where it all went down, these going out to his almost 2,9 million followers:
IOL with an explanation of sorts:
Qantas tightened dress code rules for entry to lounges earlier this year saying a survey of business travellers overwhelmingly supported the move.
“@KP24. It must have been disappointing Kevin. Changes from earlier this year. Hope to welcome you back again soon,” Qantas tweeted in response.
An airline spokeperson told AFP Tuesday that “we reached out to members early in 2015 to remind them of the dress standards and had a grace period up until April this year”.
“We completely understand that being declined at the door isn’t a great experience, so this is a good opportunity to remind those wanting to use our capital city lounges of the dress code that applies,” he added.
It seems KP relented after being called out by many users for his petulance:
Rules are rules Kev, don’t prove Andrew Strauss right once more.
