Soaking up the sun and watching the world carry on from a bird’s eye view, who doesn’t love a rooftop pool? You don’t? Get out, you’re no longer welcome here.
Then there’s lazing about by the water in Cape Town which, if you’re doing it right, provides you with a view of the mountain. You knew we were going to mention it but come now, check this view out…
On the back of the success of season one, Batstone Pool and Ideas Cartel have partnered to bring the rooftop experience back to Cape Town this Summer. Here’s your chance to hang out poolside on the fourth floor of the Cape Quarter on Somerset Road this summer, soaking up the rays and the good times.
Schuyler Vorster, founder of Ideas Cartel, had this to say:
“As a shareholder in the Batstone Pool I have been involved in the project since the idea first surfaced over drinks at the Cartel Bar in early 2014. Season one was a success, as demonstrated by the support from local and international guest and the media coverage. It taught us that the pool’s market is not just the tech entrepreneurs the Batstone team had been focusing on, but small businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs in any industry.”
The combination of the swimming pool, meeting tables, great coffee, pool loungers, soft shade, fast internet and view creates the perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon in the pool, host some friends, enjoy an after-work drink, catch up on your reading and listen to some great music.
Ideas Cartel brings its operational experience and team to the pool, which will be opening its door on Friday 13th November 2015. “The model has changed in that we will only be open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays although the venue can be used for events at any time.”
You can even get in touch and book your favourite sun lounger ahead of time. For update on what to expect, opening times and contact details for venue hire you can check their Facebook page (HERE) or website (HERE).
I don’t know about you but there’s something mighty satisfying about watching other people scramble around down there in the real world while you sip on a cocktail. Off to the pool we go…
