I suppose if you suspect your husband of cheating on you then catching him in the act must be a rather bitter-sweet feeling. Sure you’ve caught the philandering weasel red-handed, but then again your worst fears are confirmed and it’s heartbreak.

If that wasn’t enough, throw into the mix a possible jail sentence, not exactly the ending you might expect. The Mirror reports:

…[The woman] had long suspected her husband of cheating and filmed the incident on her phone.

She then posted the video on social media with the caption: “The minimum punishment for this husband is to scandalise him.”

But, the wife could actually be imprisoned for a year on defamation charges, as Saudi Arabia, where the incident occurred, enforces strict punishment for anyone using videos of photography to defame another person…

Majid Qaroob, a lawyer in Saudi Arabia, told local newspapers that the woman may have violated a Saudi information technology law.

“This law includes stiff punishment for anyone using mobile phones with a camera or other equipment to photograph others and defame them,” Qaroob said.

That Saudi Arabia isn’t exactly the bastion of women’s rights, it should be noted. Things women can’t do in the kingdom courtesy of The Week:

• Go anywhere without a chaperone
• Drive a car
• Go for a swim
• Try on clothes when shopping
• Wear clothes or make-up that “show off their beauty”

Not to sound pessimistic but you have to feel this poor woman’s goose is cooked.
