Just when exactly will it end and how many women do we need to hear from until Bill Cosby is dealt with?
Yes there’s the old ‘innocent until proven guilty’ line we hear trotted out, but as three more women join the chorus of voices alleging Bill Cosby of rape you have to wonder how this man lives with himself. The statute of limitation may have expired on almost all of these charges but something needs to be done to bring him to court.
One of the three women, Lisa Christie, was Miss America back in the late 90’s and met with Cosby after he promised to land her a role in his 1990 movie Ghost Dad. NYDaily reports:
Christie was a virgin at the time of their final meeting and was shocked when Cosby tried to kiss her “like a boyfriend,” she said.
“I’ll give you the biggest orgasm you’ve ever had,” Cosby allegedly told her when she pushed him away, she said.
“You’re never going to make it in this business unless you sleep with me,” the former pudding pop pitchman angrily warned, according to Christie…
“With Mr. Cosby, I was one of the fortunate ones to escape. Now I am here to support all of his victims,” Christie, 44, said.
Unfortunately Pamela Abeyta says she was not as lucky, meeting with Cosby in Las Vegas in 1979:
She recalled eating and drinking at the show — and later blacking out.
“I believe that someone put something in my drink,” she said…
“I don’t remember leaving the dinner show. When I came to, I was lying in Bill Cosby’s bed, not my own room,” she said. “When I came to again, I saw two other naked people in the room by my bed.”
Abeyta, now a grandmother, said she eventually woke up in her own room and flew home in a fog.
The third woman is Sharon Van Ert who, back in 1976, met with Cosby in California:
She said Cosby offered to walk her to her car one night after she’d had a couple drinks.
“I was feeling giddy and excited and happy,” she recalled Wednesday. “Mr. Cosby was very nice, and of course I didn’t suspect anything.”
She said Cosby told her she needed to sober up a bit and then attacked her when they got into her car to wait.
“He was touching me and rubbing my leg. The next thing I remember was waking up in my car, my head hanging down from the seat, alone,” she recalled through tears.
“I knew I was drugged because I threw up and I never threw up or drank too much,” she said. “I believe he must have put something in my drink while we were closing up the place.”
Van Ert said it wasn’t until she got all the way home that she realized her panties were missing.
“I believe that Mr. Cosby took them after he assaulted me,” she said. “Afterwards, I contacted the owner’s wife and told her what Bill Cosby had done. Nothing came of it, so I decided to quit my job.”
The ladies are being represented by Gloria Allred, who is also representing around 20 other women with similar allegations against Cosby. At present he faces only one civil lawsuit alleging he sexually battered a then 15-year-old at the Playboy Mansion in 1974.
