Lightning Strike Hitting Boeing 737 Caught On Camera [Video]

If you have a general fear of flying you might want to look away now, this will do little to ease your troubled mind.

A gentleman called Jack Perkins was filming the runway at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia, perhaps ruing his luck after having his flight grounded due to the storm. That was until he saw a bolt of lightning misbehaving, with this from IBT:

As torrential rain drizzles on the camera lens, a lightning bolt suddenly strikes near the rudder of the white Delta Boeing 737. Perkins posted underneath the clip: “While filming the line of planes all stacked up during a ground hold in Atlanta on 8/18/15 I happened to capture this direct lightning strike on a 737.”

It remains unclear as to whether or not anyone was on board the plane at the time, although if they were there is a good chance they will be seeking alternative forms of travel from now on.
