I’m starting to notice a rather apocalyptic theme to events this week. First there was the attack of the 40-foot minion, and now a giant sinkhole has appeared in New York City, leaving a gaping hole in a busy Brooklyn street.

As Mashable reports:

A massive sinkhole opened up at a busy intersection in Brooklyn, New York, on Tuesday morning, causing roads to close as water and gas lines were shut down. There were no reported injuries or reports of cars sucked deep into the Earth.

The hole is approximately 25 feet feet wide and 10 feet deep.

Jeepers. There must be few things more terrifying than watching the ground open up before you as you have a casual stroll around town.
