When you’re a con chilling in the prison yard and it starts raining drugs, you’re probably willing to put up a fight to get your hands on them. Which is exactly what happened when a drone tried to drop off a party favours package at an Ohio correctional facility. This from The Guardian:
The package was dropped 29 July at the Mansfield correctional institution in Ohio. It contained seven grams (almost a quarter of an ounce) of heroin, 57 grams (more than two ounces) of marijuana, and 140 grams (more than five ounces) of tobacco,” JoEllen Smith, a spokeswoman for the department of rehabilitation and correction, said.
I’m no expert but that sounds like a hell of a party. Not surprisingly, chaos ensued as the inmates started fighting over the swag, and officers had to resort to pepper spray to calm them down, with nine of them ending up in solitary confinement.
The owner of the delivery drone has yet to come forward, probably because they’re too busy working on their remote control driving techniques.
Still, if you’ve got a mate on the inside who’s in dire need of a bit of narcotics du jour, at least now you know there (might) be a way – you just need to buy your own drone! I’ve heard DronePhoto are worth a shot, I’m sure your friend behind bars would agree.
