FIFA and their crooked officials are back in the limelight following yesterday’s prank on Sepp Blatter, something that is definitely worth a watch (HERE).
Talking of watches let’s move on to former FIFA Vice President Jeffrey Webb who, in order to secure the $10 million bond needed for his release, happened to hand over 11 luxury watches along with some other opulent items. Those other items included his wife’s wedding ring (good luck with that), three impressive vehicles and 10 separate properties.
Looks like being a FIFA top dog had its perks, I wonder how many of those luxury watches came with a back-scratching clause? Let’s hand over to the Associated Press:
Webb secured the bond with a five Rolex watches plus a Cartier Roadster [pictured above], Hublot, Breitling, Panerai, Royal Oak Offshore and Luminor Marina…
Webb’s bond also is secured by a 2015 Ferrari and 2014 Range Rover in the name of his wife, Dr. Kendra Gamble-Webb, a 2003 Mercedes-Benz in his name and a 401k account in his wife’s name…
His wife’s diamond wedding ring also is security along with a diamond bracelet, diamond and pearl necklace, one pair of pearl earrings, one pair of long-hanging diamond earrings, and Rolex and Hublot watches. Her partnership equity interest in a company whose name was redacted also was used.
In addition, bond was secured by ten properties.
That’s a pretty impressive list of assets by anyone’s standards, although those properties may have been useless to him anyway. As part of his racketeering and bribery charges he must reside within 20 miles (32km) of the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn and is fitted with an electronic monitoring system.
Webb was extradited from the Cayman Islands, where he is a citizen, to face the charges in the U.S. to which he has thus far pleaded not guilty. One look at that mighty impressive list of properties and luxury items and it is difficult not to smell a rat.
