It looks like it could be a long week of awkward small chat and a general lack of self-confidence for fans of the Colombian Marching Powder, this following a massive bust at Jozi’s OR Tambo International Airport.
The women arrested, a 42-year-old South African, is in a world of trouble after Saturday’s bust. She was returning from Sao Paolo in Brazil, with this below from TimesLive:
“Members from Customs and Excise conducted routine checks and discovered that the woman had concealed over 4 kilograms of drugs‚ believed to be cocaine‚ in books which were in her check-in luggage.
The drugs are valued at over R1.2 million. She will be charged with dealing in drugs and will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate court on Monday. In the meantime the drugs will be forensically tested to determine if it is indeed cocaine‚” [police spokesman Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo] said.
The thing about cocaine is that many people don’t even like the taste of it, they just like how it smells. Now that the bust has been taken off the market partygoers this weekend can expect shorter queues for the toilets and a (slightly) less obnoxious gathering of folks in the Sandton area.
