Imagine A Life Without The ANC – Mmusi Maimane Predicts When The DA Will Be In Power

According to Mmusi Maimane, the man with the most mispronounced surname in all of South Africa, the ANC's days are numbered. He says the DA are coming in hot.

It appears that Mmusi Maimane has bust out the crystal ball and had a look at South Africa’s political future. His findings? The DA have their crosshairs fixed on the ANC, with 2019 pegged as the year that the opposition party takes over the national reins.

Maimane spoke this weekend at the launch of the DA’s Vision 2019  strategy and claimed that by 2029, after 10 years of DA rule, South Africa would be far better off in both the education and economical spheres. Some of the highlights below from TimesLive:

Mr Maimane said under the DA government SA will reach an 8% economic growth rate and halve unemployment down to 18%. “It will be a society where an individual coming from a supportive background can work hard to achieve success‚” Mr Maimane said later during a media briefing.

Other DA party members were also in fine voice, with Gauteng leader John Moodey paying homage to the inspiring actions of Soweto’s youth during the 1976 uprising:

“Just like in 1976‚ South Africa is ready for change‚” he said.

He said the vision 2029 strategy was “a statement of intent. We are issuing a notice to the people that the DA intends to become the party of government in 2019”.

Just more political party speak or a real statement of intent that has a chance to succeed? I guess, like all other matters, that depends on which politician you ask.
