I know it’s been a crazy week for y’all, so I am going to try keep today as lighthearted as humanly possible.
Let us start with this little story.
It’s about the Filipino diving team at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore. Let’s just watch it, shall we? The we can chat. (Turn up the volume…)
Both John Elmerson Fabriga and John David Pahoyo managed to royally mess up their dives, as is rather obvious. For those of you that don’t know, the divers should have, in an ideal world, landed head first into the water, rather than the impressive back first.
The two men seemed good-natured enough, laughing off their scores of zero.
I am still proud because not all of us has the privilege to represent our own country to such a big sporting event like this. And by the way can I ask all of you if you can still smile after getting embarrassed in front of thousands of people?
Unfortunately the Philippine Sports Commission chair is not finding it as funny, and wants a full explanation from the aquatics chief, saying that he “will give the opportunity for the Philippine Swimming Inc. president to explain, because he fought for these divers to come here and compete”.
I just keep watching it over and over and over because it honestly gets funnier every time.
