When you’re a local film-maker you’re often forced to work on a shoestring budget and it takes a healthy dose of positivity to keep on trucking in the face of adversity.
The process is made somewhat easier when the story you are telling, ‘GIFT’, is an uplifting piece about a young South African Pantsula dancer from Khayelitsha who sees the world in a different way.
According to Dan Mace this film is about ‘perception and understanding that everything is perfect always, maybe it’s just you looking at it wrong. You can’t control your surroundings, but you can control the way you SEE them’.
The film has been submitted for the #MyRode Film competition so don’t be afraid to head HERE and give our local lads a little extra help.
