If there is one thing that unites opposition South African political parties it is their disdain for the ANC and the man who rules the roost, our dear leader Jacob Zuma.
You have probably seen Zuma having a good chuckle about everyone’s obsession with Nkandla and, as you can imagine, his latest antics caused the likes of Cope, the EFF and the DA to go to town on JZ and his friends.
We’re going to have a quick peruse then at some of those reactions as summed up on TimesLive, starting with the EFF:
…on Zuma’s table of discourse is only unrelated sophomore broken speech accompanied by super unethical and uncontrollable parasitic appetite for public resources. We are confronted with an inarticulate homophobic, sexist, afrophobic and a kleptomaniac who now thinks he is the ideologue of our times.
Not exactly a rave review, carrying on from their scathing attack yesterday. Next stop is the DA and Mmusi Maimane unleashing the fury:
From the energy crisis that promises three more years of load-shedding and job-shedding; to the economy, which has shed 2 million jobs and raised unemployment to 36,1% since President Zuma was elected to office…
Every time the President steps up to the National Assembly podium, the country is left with even less hope and an image of a jester, rather than a leader who has solutions to solving the country’s problems.
Moving on to Congress of the People (Cope), who likened JZ to a clown (something most of us already have irrational fears about):
Zuma entertained the whole country free of charge‚ far better than any circus clown…
Zuma is talking about political poverty. He is the biggest offender by far for impoverishing our politics. He has no capacity for engaging in serious discourse. He clowns and the ruling party MPs lap it up…
Dignity and decorum of our Parliament have evaporated. President Zuma must take the blame.
It appears that in politics, much like world football’s governing body. the rot really does start from the top.
