Hating on Nickleback has been growing in popularity since the band first polluted the world’s eardrums with How You Remind Me back in 2001, and thankfully the abuse shows no sign of letting up.
Previous hardcore jibes at the band’s expense include one London man trying to crowdsource enough money to prevent them touring the city, bettered still by a charity fundraiser where some poor soul listened to Nickelback for a week straight. Rather you than me mate, although the band are used to taking it on the chin. Chad Kroeger, lead singer and absolute tosser, with this quote from CBC:
If they had stopped writing all this stuff about us, there would be no controversy left in the band and we probably would have died out years ago. They don’t know that they’re still responsible for us being around today.
Unfortunately the band do still tour and are currently Down Under. Cue the Queensland Police posting this absolute gem on their Facebook page:
We normally don’t encourage name-calling but take a bow you sheep-shagging convicts, that’s a bloody ripper. Unfortunately the band were not detained and are continuing their jaunt around Australia. May I recommend Wolf Creek gents, I hear they are very fond of foreigners.
