Oh my actual word. This video of a woman kissing a tomato for a sex-ed video had left me cringing (much like this video from yesterday). But it’s all for a good cause, really, because it’s educating kids in Norway about sex.
Line Jansrud is a medical doctor and she hosts a show called Newton, which is a “science show for eight to 12 years olds”. The series hopes to educate the children in Norway about the “birds and the bees” and can get pretty blunt when explaining things, leaving no stones unturned.
Masturbation? Check.
Orgasms? Check.
Breast growth? Check.
Every possible topic is covered when it comes to learning about the body, its changes, and growing up.
Without further ado, here’s the tomato-kiss.
In another episode, she reminds children that the legal age for consensual sex is 16 and that “there’s no hurry to have sex”. She then goes into a detailed description on foreplay.
Jansrud then pushes a lubricated hand-held dildo in and out of an anatomically correct model of a woman’s lower half while porno groove plays in the background. “Maybe slow at first, and faster later”.
Kirsti Moe, Newton’s executive producer explained the show:
We tell them about the universe, about plants, about electricity. Facts, facts, facts in an entertaining way. Naturally, on a program tasked with teaching children facts about the world, the topic of their own bodies would come up.
I wonder how well this would go down in South African primary schools? Or in my prude all-girls high school, for that matter…
