As if Mugabe didn’t cause enough drama in Zim, what with his spin doctors and trips away and lavish lifestyle, we now have to deal with his cousin, Phillip Chiyangwa.
Described as a “flambouyant Harare businessman and politician”, Phil usually drives around in a Rolls-Royce Phantom, but his garage has seen a recent upgrade.
Want to see what he got?
That’s his new custom-made Hummer limousine and he is not shy to tell anyone that “this car probably cost me more than half a million dollars … and this is just a transformer – I have also acquired a jet”.
Asked whether he feels bad about driving such an exorbitantly priced car?
If I have knocked out a bank the police will come after me. No one is stopping you from making your own money. Why shouldn’t I celebrate? You should not forget that I’m a businessman first and a politician second. I don’t work for the country, I work for myself and my family first and those who work for me; you understand?
Phil clearly lives in a world of his own. When asked about stopping at police roadblocks, he says “he doesn’t have time to waste so he just drives right through”.
Apparently Mugabe isn’t in favour of Phil’s showing off, having told him a few years ago “Don’t show off… all the time”.
