There really isn’t any easy way to tell your partner you’re ending the relationship. All the well-worn clichés (it’s not you it’s me, we’ve grown apart, I can’t stand the sight of you for one minute longer) never seem to quite get across the point one is trying to make, which is where this company is swooping in to save the day.
[Disclaimer – breaking up in this way is a cowardly act, but who are we to tell you what to do with your life?]
Say hello to the Sorry It’s Over service, an Australian company that will break the bad news via a medium of your choice and save you the hassle. The basic service starts from $5 (R59), with this from Metro:
[The basic service] will dump your significant other via text, email, handwritten letter or even a phone call.
If you’re feeling generous (read: really guilty) you can even ease your ex’s heartbreak with a sympathy hamper and personalised message for $90 AUS [R1 067].
Charming stuff, although according to 37-year-old founder Kristy Mazins youngsters today are so averse to real-life interactions that both parties will actually prefer this method.
There is also the deluxe package for $66 (R783) where Kristy will appear on your behalf, provided your unfortunate partner lives within 40km of Melbourne, and break the news in person. It is unknown as to whether or not she is a fan of post break-up sex. For that you may need the platinum package.
