Just a warning, this video is pretty awful to watch.
Back in January, two white police officers in Inkster, Michigan, pulled over 57-year old Floyd Dent, an African-American man, for running a stop sign.
The cops’ dash cam then managed to record the most horrifying scene: Dent being pulled from his car and then held down and beaten by the two policemen (although we can hardly call them men now, can we?).
Dent was then “charged with assault, resisting arrest, and possession of cocaine, insisting they (the police) found cocaine beneath the passenger seat of his Cadillac”. He profusely denies that the cocaine was his, saying that the two officers planted it in his car.
“I mean, I was on my last breath. I kept telling the officer, ‘Please, I can’t breathe,” Mr Dent said.
We all know what happened to the last man who was in a similar situation – he died. These cops are lucky they stopped.
The funny thing is that Mr Dent has no previous criminal record at all. So why the haste to beat the man? The two police officers said that Dent initially “struggled and bit them when he left his vehicle” but the video looks to show otherwise.
The Police Chief of Inkster, Vicki Yost, said “Michigan State Police were investigating and that the officers had been sent on leave”.
I’m sorry, but that is not enough.
