I’m sure all of us rugby fans out there have enjoyed laughing at Naas ‘On da udder hand Darren’ Botha over the years. Then we were gifted Warren Brosnihan, who never ceases to amaze with pearlers such as “it’s part and parcel for a scrumhalf to be very verbal, and this man has a lot of verbs”.
Well now we can all have a chuckle without feeling that little bit guilty thanks to Supersport’s The Dan Nicholl Show, set to air on Supersport 1 on Wednesdays from 20:30 starting April 1st. No, this is not a piss-take, we’ll leave that to the gents in charge.
Each week a trio of guests, drawn from both the sporting and entertainment worlds, will join Dan Nicholl live in studio for a light-hearted evening of studio banter that introduces South Africa to a new side of established faces.
With a live studio audience cheering on the guests each week, and the inserts adding a cutting edge to each week’s show, SuperSport is set for an exciting new addition to its line-up, with MasterChef judge Pete Goffe-Wood, former Proteas captain Graeme Smith and former Bafana Bafana star Shaun Bartlett lined up for the first episode.
With a heavyweight presenting CV that includes the star-studded Alfred Dunhill Links Championship gala dinner with Michael Douglas, Bill Murray, Samuel L Jackson and Hugh Grant, Nicholl has extensive experience at events around the world, but is very proud to call South Africa home – and is determined to make The Dan Nicholl Show a homegrown South African success story.
We look forward to some of our favourite sportsmen and women having a laugh with us but please, I think we have all heard enough from the Brosnihan for now.
