Hang on here, I know what you are thinking and no it’s not another case of someone throwing poo. Instead we have four criminals in central Jozi who have taken a rather unusual approach to the age old profession of robbing.
The unlucky victims were a pair of sisters enjoying some afternoon shopping when a man snuck up and smeared a brown substance on their hands. TimesLive reports:
While still confused they were approached by three females and one male; they told them not to touch that substance that has been smeared on their hands; they must buy milk and wash their hands with it.”
The sisters set off to buy milk and were then accosted by the same people, who searched them and stole the women’s purses, containing R2,200 in total.
The victims screamed for help and the suspects fled, although the female was later apprehended by the police. The nature of the substance used is still unknown.
We usually applaud ingenuity but this is one case where we shall refrain from doing so. If anyone approaches you and rubs an unusual brown substance on your hands we suggest you either klap them or rub it on the Cecil John Rhodes statue at UCT, everyone else seems to be doing it.
