It’s surprising that with a lot of the world fighting for equal rights for gay couples, a super-duo like Dolce&Gabbana would say something that is of such personal opinion… but the fashion gurus from D&G have really put their feet in it by saying that children born via IVF (the process used to conceive a child outside the body) are ‘synthetic children’.
Uh-oh.
In an interview with Italian magazine Panorama, Domenico Dolce said “procreation should be an act of love” and that “you are born and you have a father and mother. At least it should be like that. That’s why I’m not convinced by what I call chemical children, synthetic babies”.
On hearing this, Elton John immediately took to Instagram: “How dare you refer to my beautiful children as “synthetic?” and “I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana”. Elton and his husband David Furnish have two boys through a surrogate mother and artificial insemination.
Celebs took to social media to show their support of IVF babies and their apparent instant hatred for D&G.
