I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just have to get rid of something, like, right this second. For example, the time my now ex-boyfriend moved out (may he rest in peace). He left behind his Weber. For months I stared at it outside in my garden, slowly rusting away as it tried to survive the rainy winter of Cape Town.
This was until, one morning, I absolutely could not look at it anymore (probably because I had tried my hardest to make fire and had very definitely not succeeded so realistically there was no point in keeping it, anyway). I will forever be grateful that it was a Monday morning AKA trash collection day. Monday mornings come with a whole host of people in my suburb looking for bottles/appliances/old clothes to recycle or reuse. Because it was a Monday, my task of getting rid of the Weber was made fairly simple.
I opened the door to my garden, opened the garage door, walked onto the street and asked loudly: Does anybody want a Weber?
Not 30 seconds later I had a stranger in my back yard, both of us semi-covered in old ash, both of us hauling the unwanted object onto the street and into a Woolies trolley.
It was gone! What a wonderful moment. Granted I was now dirty and sweaty.
Had I known, I would have used the Gumtree App. Because I didn’t have time to turn on the MacBook and find the internet and take photos and transfer them from the phone… you get where I am going with this. The App takes that all away.
You can post images straight from you albums or take a new pic and once you’ve made your for sale post you can share it to all your social medias.
If you’re looking to buy, you can contact sellers directly from the app via email, SMS or a call.
The best news is that the App is FREE and you can DOWNLOAD IT HERE.
Does it get any easier??
No, I think not.
I think a little thank you is in order for the folks over at Gumtree.
