I think we can all agree the world owes Keira Knightley’s parents a huge thank you. Really, from all of us, you have played out of your boots.
But, it seems, whilst Keira’s parents must be knee-deep in the beauty gene, their spelling leaves a lot to be desired. Their daughter’s name is in fact a misspelling of a famous Russian ice-skater called Kiera Ivanov. This from Sky:
My dad fancied her and nicked her name for me. But it was my mum who went to register my birth, and she accidentally spelled ‘ei’ instead of ‘ie’ because my mum’s c**p at spelling.
Even though they realised the error pretty quickly it was too late to do anything about it, and Keira really doesn’t seem too bothered about the whole thing so no harm done. Then again, when you are blessed with the looks and talent that she is, there’s not much to whinge about.
