Come guys, we can’t make fun of our friends living in the concrete jungle that is Jozi if we don’t maximise what is around us in the fair Cape.
Hiking Signal Hill and Lion’s Head, tick. Drinking sundowners at Caprice and ogling the beautiful people, tick. Catching a gnarly wave and riding it to shore…nay? Let’s get started on this then, duuuuude.
Groupon are running a special on introductory surfing lesson in conjunction with Surfstore Africa Surfing in Muizenberg, so you really have no excuse. The lesson will include the following, taken from Groupon:
Surfstore Africa surfing course participants learn about ocean awareness, wave breaks, ocean conditions, safety in and out of the water, wave etiquette, paddling, push up and pop up surfing techniques, as well as riding waves and balancing. All surfing students will start out in shallow areas riding the white water until they are comfortable with venturing further out. Surfstore Africa operates from Sunrise Beach, a non-crowded mellow beach break monitored by the False Bay Lifesavers for a maximum safety. The introductory surfing lesson is a one day course with one and a half hours of teaching.
There you have it. Time to hit the beach and get inside the green room. Get started on your surfing odyssey for just R140 HERE.
