So I’m genuinely still impressed every time I send a text message and someone on the other side of the world’s phone goes ‘beep’. Call me old-fashioned, but that’s pretty epic.

Then they cloned a sheep. Then they 3D printed human organs and saved someone’s life. How big could they go with this whole 3D printing business ?

Cue Chinese construction company WinSun, who have only gone and 3D printed a five-storey apartment building and a three-storey mansion.

Not only is this really nifty, but it has positive environmental implications as well. This from Time:

…the villa [mansion] cost about $161,000 to build, decreased production time between 50 and 70 percent and saved between 30 and 60 percent of construction waste.

We doubt whether all this will spell the end of the plumber’s crack though. Some things technology will never rid us of.
