Awards ceremonies can be tedious affairs, other than ogling our favourite film stars and hoping someone trips on the red carpet of course.
The hosts usually play things down the line, avoiding any real controversies and brown-nosing the powers that be to ensure their next big pay day. Unless that host is Ricky Gervais, or either of the ladies who stepped up to the plate last night.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler weren’t going to pussyfoot around the Bill Cosby issue. The bait was too tempting and, to be honest, he deserves to be called out on one of Hollywood’s biggest stages. He did, after all, crack a joke himself whilst on stage in Canada.
