In case you can’t make it to shul every Friday night, or your mother can’t find a lovely doctor for you to date (did she mention he’s a doctor?), JSwipe is here to save your bacon.

Following on from the success of the dating website JDate, launched in 1997 and now boasting 450 000 users across the globe, the JSwipe smartphone app has a number of features which set it apart from Tinder. One writer from The Daily Beast spent a week using the service and noted some differences:

The app has already connected one couple who has since married, and is open to anyone who wants to sign up, be they Jewish or not. One hopes JSwipe is less ‘douchey’ than Tinder, although it would be hard not to be.
