Just to recap you on life in case you have missed it – Darren Wilson, the police officer who shot dead Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, will not be facing any charges. There have been massive protests throughout the US, and now the unrest has moved across the Atlantic to the UK.
Thousands of Britons marched through Regent Street in central London yesterday evening which ended in a vigil for the slain teenager outside the US embassy.
People were also there in memory of Mark Duggan and Sean Rigg, who were both killed by police in the UK. A family member of Duggan spoke out:
Murder is not legitimate. No one should lose their child. Michael Brown has not got justice neither has Mark Duggan. The police are there to protect, not to kill our children.
Let’s hope these protests in London don’t turn into the riots of 2011.
