Kim Jong-un has been out of the limelight lately, making everyone speculate that something was going down in North Korea. But he’s back and as ruthless as ever.
Ten officials from the country’s ruling Workers’ Party have been executed. Why? Well, they decided to indulge in some South Korean soap operas, among other things.
The officials were put in front of a firing squad for their liking to the banned soap operas, along with engaging in bribes, or womanising.
Defectors from North Korea told the Telegraph that pirated versions of South Korean and Chinese television shows are widely distributed in the country’s black market.
The execution of the officials suggests Kim Jong Un is getting rid of people who could become part of the opposition to his rule.
