Did your parents never teach you to read the whole contract before signing at the bottom? If not, this could make you change your mind, and have you at least skimming every third word.

European law enforcement agency Europol decided to do a little experiment recently, with the aim of showing people the dangers of public wi-fi use.

When connecting to the ‘free’ hotspot, users had to agree to the T’s & C’s, which had them unknowingly give up their first-born child.

“The terms and conditions … included a ‘Herod clause’ promising free Wi-Fi but only if ‘the recipient agreed to assign their first born child to us for the duration of eternity’.”

Six people reportedly signed up for the free wi-fi, but of course they will not actually have to give up their children (although I’m sure some wouldn’t mind…).
