I honestly don’t have the time to think of a good headline. I just wanted to show you this beautiful little story I got from Popbitch (subscribe to their newsletter – that’s where the action is):
>> Bono of the week: pt 2 <<
Everyone in Dublin has a story
JL writes:
“During the Popmart tour the band was playing
in Rio de Janeiro. On a day off, Bono and
some of the crew visited the Christ the
Redeemer statue on Corcovado mountain. Walking
away from the site they were approached by
an older American couple. They asked Bono
if he would “mind if we get a picture”.
Obviously used to this Bono said “sure” and
proceeded to straighten his jacket and cap.
However the old couple merely got into
position with the statue behind them, their
arms around each other and handed him the
camera saying “thanks”. Unruffled, Bono
took the phot for them and then asked if
they would mind if he got in one with them
too. Slightly confused, the old couple
agreed and Bono posed, then thanked them
and walked away. One can only imagine their
younger family members shock when they showed
the picture of the “nice Irish man” they
met in Brazil.”
Nice.
Feel good.
Pity he got all annoying and all that.
While I’ve got you, I should also tell you another amazing fact I got from Popbitch : Although the otter is an exceptionally good swimmer
and fish catcher, it can only hold its breath for
twenty seconds.
Pretty incredible, huh?
