Friday night saw some excitement at the White House…
An American war vet, Omar J. Gonzalez, thought it would be a great idea to run across the White House lawn, with White House officials saying he had a knife on him.
At 19H20, Mr Gonzalez hopped over the fence and ran, entering the North Portico doors. He was then apprehended, but officials are very unhappy that he made it as far as he did.
“The President has full confidence in the Secret Service and is grateful to the men and women who day in and day out protect himself, his family and the White House.”
I wonder if Mr Obama would feel differently had he actually been there?
Security patrols have since been increased.
