The EFF is at it again this week, with our bestie, Julius Malema, and Floyd Shivambu, also an EFF MP, being asked to leave the National Assembly.
(It’s a wonder at the moment that #LeaveTheNationalAssembly isn’t trending on Twitter.)
After Malema and Shivambu refused to retract comments blaming Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa for the killing of the 34 miners at Marikana in 2012, speaker Baleka Mbete told them to leave.
“Ramaphosa had blood on his hands for the deaths of 34 mineworkers in Marikana two years ago.”
But, in a beautiful moment of political poetry, Shivambu lifted his hand and pulled the middle finger at Ramaphosa, and then left.
Pure class, I tell you.
Thank you Gareth Edwards for snapping that shot.
