After 126 years of sleepless nights, we can hopefully all get a good nights sleep.
The 19th century serial killer known as Jack the Ripper has finally been identified as Aaron Kosminski.
Russell Edwards has made the discovery, after over a decade of research.
“He obtained a blood-stained shawl that belonged to Catherine Eddowes, one of the victims.”
Edwards took the shawl to genetics and forensics expert, Dr. Jari Louhelainen. The good doctor took “DNA from both Eddowes blood and the killer’s semen/urethral epithelial tissue from the shawl” and matched it to living relatives of both the deceased.
The identity of Jack the Ripper was always thought to be Aaron Kosminski, who was a Polish Jew who fled to London.
