Are you sleep drunk? (And we don’t mean that you’ve had a few too many vodka-tonics with your sushi.)
If you are waking up disorientated and thinking that the cat sleeping next to your face is a polar bear, then you might very well be.
According to researchers at Stanford University School of Medicine, who interviewed 19 136 people, 15% of people have experienced “sleep drunkenness” in the past year.
“Even though sleep drunkenness gets less attention compared to behaviors like sleep walking, it can be just as dangerous.”
Other signs to look out for are amnesia and violent reactions.
“Sleep drunkenness” could also mean that you have a sleep disorder or a mental health disorder.
