You may think you know the ins and the outs of the local music scene in South Africa, but you don’t know the half of it.
What’s happening in the big-name clubs, large venues and hot-spots is not the backbone of the industry, but rather the guys and girls spending sleepless nights recording, practicing and spreading their passion with the real hustle and bustle of the cities.
That’s why Jack Daniel’s is on the search to unearth the underlying talent of SA’s music landscape, and find those unsigned artists and give them the recognition and platform that they deserve.
So if you’re an unsigned musician, band or DJ, celebrity judges such as T-BO Touch, multiple award-winning Khuli Chana as well as the legendary DJ Ganyani, all want to hear your demo. Do you have what it takes?
“Be bold, be unique and stay true to your style. Most importantly you must have passion for music and also have a musical approach to your production.” advises DJ Ganyani. And Jack Daniels is a perfect fit for the competition, as the whiskey brand and music share a long history, with Jack himself having begun one of the oldest recorded music sponsorships in the 1860s – of the Silver Cornet band.
Entrants can visit the Jack Scouts website from a mobile device to enter. Follow our progress on FB at JackDanielsSA, #Jackscouts. The winning artists, as selected by the JD Music Scouts, in addition to receiving exposure through the campaign, will win a trip to the Miami Music Conference, one of the most publicised annual music gatherings in the world.
