In something that doesn’t really come as a surprise, Uruguayan forward Luis Suárez continued his tirade of biting people and decided to dine Italian in last night’s Group D match against Italy.
Suarez channeled his inner-beaver and chomped down on Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini, which, in Suarez’s defence, does sounds like a delicious pasta dish.
Suarez now faces a disciplinary hearing from FIFA which will determine if he’s to be banned from the game, and for how long.
If the panel finds Suarez guilty of assaulting an opponent, FIFA rules call for a ban of at least two matches up to a maximum of 24 months.
The Liverpool star is no stranger to World Cup controversy though, as his infamous hand-ball in the 2010 tournament prevented Ghana from scoring a pivotal goal.
