Facebook users were forced to jump onto other social media outlets earlier today when the social media goliath took a face-plant and crashed.
Facebook was down for around 15-20 minutes, as people had to search and “Like” self-absorbed statuses on other platforms, such as Twitter, Google Plus or whatever else is attracting people these days.
Users in France, South Africa, Belgium and Germany reported being unable to log in to Facebook as the site returned a ‘Sorry, something went wrong’ message.
As expected, Twitter faithfuls and frustrated Facebookers jumped onto Twitter got the hashtag #Facebookdown trending, with some pretty humorous stuff being posted.
Responses varied from the “So far I am coping. But this really better not go on any longer”, to sarcastic lines like “a moment of silence for all of those who had to interact face to face”.
