In a nutshell, feminist porn is a new genre of pornography that is set to empower instead of demean women. It’s a way to showcase the sexual act that does not lend itself merely to the fantasies of your average heterosexual man.

Last month in Toronto, a group of over 250 porn performers congregated in Toronto, Canada , to experiment with creating pornography that celebrates different sexual orientations in a way that never derides or objectifies, but rather appreciates the diversity within the realm of an individuals sexual nuances.

“”If it’s possible to have sex in a feminist way, it’s possible to record it in a feminist way,” says Pandora Blake, a 29-year-old London-based sex worker, pornographer and porn performer.”

“Aesthetically, feminist porn dispenses with many of the tropes of mainstream straight porn – the primacy of the male climax, the portrayal of women as sex objects dedicated to the pleasure of the male partner, the “male gaze” camera angles that linger on the prone female body while disembodying the penis.”
